Coaches and Parents,
Welcome to Pearland ISD for the 2013 Texas Volleyball Invitational.
Parking Guidelines
There are no parking fees at any of the sites! Below is a list of each site and the dos/donts regarding
parking at that school.
- Pearland High School North Parking will be allowed in both parking lots at the high school.
The web site has the highlighted areas that you are allowed to park in for the day. Please follow those
guidelines or you will be towed! We highly suggest that all school buses and fans park in the grass area
along the side of the North Campus parking lots leading out to the back of the school.
- Pearland Junior High East Parking is across the street behind the football stadium.
DO NOT park in the adjacent church parking lot.
- Turner High School There is no school in session at this location. Park anywhere except in the Red Fire Lanes! There should be plenty of room at this location!
- Pearland Junior High South Parking is allowed by the gym area near the tennis courts
- Dawson High School Parking will be allowed in the back parking lot area located behind the
baseball/softball fields. The web site has the designated highlighted areas that you are allowed to
park in each day. Go to the Maps/Hotels Page for that information.
- Berry Miller Junior High Parking will be allowed in the back by the gym and also out in front where
the visitors parking is located.
- Pearland Junior High West Parking will be allowed in the back of the gym area in the big parking lot by the football stadium.
- City Of Pearland Recreational Center Strict Parking Guidelines! Please check out the Maps/Hotels page on the tournament site to find out where the specified (highlighted parking areas are located) parking areas are located.
Admissions
The cost of a single day ticket will be $12.00. A tournament pass will be sold for $30.00 on the first
day only! No passes will be allowed from any district or coaching organization. Tournament programs
will be sold at each site. The cost of the programs will be $5.00.
LinesPerson
Each team must supply a LinesPerson for each match that they play in during the tournament. It can
either be a player or an adult. There will be officials used for semis, third place, and the championship
match.
Concession Stands
The locations that will have concession stands as of now are PHS, Rec Center, and DHS. We are possibly working on
the other two sites setting up concession stands for their locations also.
Sportsmanship for Players/Coaches/Fans
There will be no verbal or physical abuse of an official at any time during the tournament. Any person
that is guilty of this will be denied access to the tournament for the remaining days of competition from
the time the incident occurs. Police will be on duty at the sites to escort unruly patrons. Players/coaches
must display good conduct to officials and opposing teams. It is the rite of John Turner, Tournament Director, to remove any person(s) that show unjust behavior that is detrimental to the tournament or its workers.
Tiebreakers for Division Play
The following tie break rules will apply when a tie occurs at the end of division play.
2-Way & 3-Way Ties Head to Head Results; if still tied then we will go by game ratio percentage; if still tied
then we will go by total points for and against each team in their division; the higher number of plus (+) points advances.
Entering and Leaving a Facility
All fans must enter and exit each location as designated by the signs located at each site. No fans, players, or coaches are allowed in the halls of any school. Any teams caught disturbing the school atmosphere will be penalized accordingly per the tournament director John Turner. There are no exceptions to this rule! Please keep the players and fans in the playing area and foyer of each site. No students are allowed to be outside wandering around in the front of any of the playing sites for any reason at all. Stay with your teams and do not wander the campuses.
Warm-ups for each Court
Coaches, you have an allotted amount of time to warm up for your matches. The first match of the day you will be allowed 3 minutes ball handling, 4 minutes of hitting each, then 1 minute of serving together. After the initial first match of the day for your team, then you will immediately go into your 4 minutes of hitting each and then one minute of serving. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If your team is late, you will be given the amount of time that is left when you arrive. There will be a cart of balls on each half court for each team to warm up with during their designated time. I highly suggest that the team doing ball handling while the other team hits only uses a minimum amount of balls so the team hitting has a sufficient amount.
Tournament Results
We are excited to announce that we have partnered with AES systems (www.advancedeventsystems.com) to provide tournament results. Coaches will have access to a computer at most site where they can view the details of their next match. Tournament fans will not have access to AES computers.
We encourage everyone to keep up with their team on their smart phones by accessing our website at http://pvbclassic.com/brackets.html or by buying the AES application at https://www.advancedeventsystems.com/Default.aspx.
